Phasmophobia Ghost Filter
Guide & about
An unofficial companion for Phasmophobia. Record what you observe and narrow down candidates on your phone or stream overlay.
Start in 30 seconds
- Set the evidence count to match your game settings.
- Tap ✓ for confirmed evidence, × for evidence you have not detected. Tap the evidence name to clear that entry.
- Read the bright candidates. Tap a name to exclude it manually, or its information icon for details.
- Use Reset for the next investigation. It clears evidence entries and manual exclusions; the evidence count and display settings stay as they are.
Record evidence
Each row has three direct choices. The centre name clears your selection.
- Orange ✓
- A basic evidence type shared by all remaining, non-excluded candidates. This is a hint, not a confirmed observation.
Dimmed evidence is not among the evidence currently suggested by the filter. You can still tap it.
Read the candidates
- Dimmed name
- The ghost does not match your current evidence settings. Changing the evidence can make it a candidate again.
- Crossed-out name
- You excluded this ghost by tapping its name. Tap again to restore it. It is omitted from evidence hints but remains in the list.
By default, matching ghosts come first. Position lock keeps the original order and uses brightness to show which ghosts match.
Choose the evidence count
Tap the count below the evidence list, choose 3 / 2 / 1 / 0, then Apply. Cancel or close to keep the previous setting.
- 3
- All 3 basic evidence types appear.
- 2
- 2 of 3 basic evidence types appear.
- 1
- 1 of 3 basic evidence types appears.
- 0
- No basic evidence.
At 1 or 2, evidence that cannot be hidden always appears.
The Mimic’s extra Ghost Orbs are separate and appear even at 0.
An undetected basic evidence type may be hidden when fewer than 3 are available. × does not always rule out every ghost that has that evidence.
Open ghost details
Use the information icon beside a ghost’s name to read its description, evidence, special behaviour and speed notes. Close the panel to return to your investigation.
- always
- The “always” marker means a basic evidence type cannot be hidden when at least 1 evidence type is available. At 0, it is not required.
- extra
- The “extra” marker is additional evidence outside the three basic types. The Mimic’s Ghost Orbs do not use a basic evidence slot and appear even at 0.
Obambo timer
Open Obambo’s information panel. Use −10 / −1 / +1 / +10 to set the next whole minute shown on the in-game investigation clock, then tap Sync when the game clock reaches that time. You can also sync at 00:00 when the entrance is unlocked. Tap the pencil icon on the right of the clock to set the time again. Counting continues while the panel is closed. The small light beside Obambo is blue for calm, red for aggressive, and off when not synced. These are estimates from the synced time, not observed states. The first switch is at 01:00, then every two minutes. Reset returns the timer to 00:00 and stops it; reloading also clears it.
Language & display controls
Use Language below the evidence list to cycle through the five languages. Your selection is saved on this browser; on first use, the browser language is used.
- Keep ghost positions fixed
- Keep names in place while you change evidence. The brighter icon means position lock is on.
- Lock scrolling
- In portrait view, lock the app’s internal scrolling. The header stays available to unlock it.
- Collapse layout
- Switch between expanded and compact spacing. The brighter icon means compact spacing is active.
- Swap layout
- In wide layouts, swap the evidence and ghost columns.
- Show mobile layout
- In landscape, preview a mobile-width layout. Use the desktop icon to return, even if you rotate the device.
Reloading starts with 3 evidence types, position lock and scroll lock off, and expanded spacing. Language is remembered.

Cookies & privacy
We use usage analytics to understand how the tool is used and which ghosts are identified, so we can improve it. Only after you agree, and if analytics is configured, do we load Google Tag Manager. If one candidate remains for 5 seconds after agreement, the tool sends an identified event containing its Japanese name and the evidence count.
Before you choose, or if you do not agree, Google Tag Manager is not loaded and the tool sends no analytics events. Actions before agreement are not saved for later transmission.
Analytics choice: Not chosen
You can change your choice here at any time. Every tool feature is available without agreeing.
Analytics services loaded after agreement may use cookies to recognise visits. Their names and lifetimes depend on the service settings. Withdrawing agreement stops analytics but does not delete existing cookies; you can remove them in your browser settings.
Language, your analytics choice (agree or do not agree), and whether you have closed the quick guide are saved in this browser’s localStorage, rather than cookies. The old notice’s closed status does not count as agreement. Evidence selections and manual exclusions are not saved across reloads.
